Look. We want to read your work.
We want to read your work if you’re an undiscovered writer, or if you’re established. We want to read your work if–and especially if–it is concise, experimental, hybrid, or flashy. If it’s modern. If it’s vintage. If it’s vulnerable. We want to read your work if it has guts.
We ask for:

We ask that you only submit once to each category until you hear back on your submission. You may submit to all categories at the same time, but we respectfully ask that you only submit one time in each separate category.
Blind submissions only, please. Any submission received that includes identifying personal information in the attached document will automatically be rejected with a request to resubmit blindly. Cover letters with identifying information are fine, as they are not viewed by our readers. We believe in reading work with integrity and impartiality and blind submissions are beneficial to both the writers and editors.
We would appreciate it if all prose were double spaced.
We allow for simultaneous submissions, as long as you indicate in your cover letter which piece(s) have been submitted elsewhere. If a piece is accepted elsewhere, please notify us as soon as humanly possible!
We do not consider previously published work or mail-in submissions.
Reporting time for submissions is three to six months, though we strive for much sooner than that. All published work will be archived online, and after publication all rights revert back to the author/artist.
If you have any questions, comments, or trouble navigating the submission manager, please reach out to us at editors@sprylit.com for assistance.
We are also looking for contributing writers for our blog feature. The guidelines in this section do not pertain to that feature. Please click on the link below for feature-specific guidelines.
